35mm film is back!
On some projects we are commissioned to photograph we have been adding a more nuanced version of imaging. We’ve been carrying around a small pocket sized film camera with various rolls and types of 35mm film. The results are beautiful. What film ‘looks’ like is hard to articulate. Film perhaps b/c of it’s organic structure and it’s non conforming grains as opposed to uniform pixels has a certain realness to it. It is instantly nostalgic and seems to capture what it actually felt like to be there rather than just what it looks like. It’s nuanced and sometimes hard to describe the difference but look at these pics with a considered eye and you may get a sense of what we photographers ramble on about when we start discussing the glory days of film.
